Regular ABCD Training in London: Announcing our training partnership with Croydon Voluntary Action
Over the next year, we will be announcing a small number of new partnerships with associations; organisations and folks that we believe can help us deepen authentic ABCD practice. With that it gives me great pleasure to share with you, our newest partnership, with Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA). Our plan is to work together to offer Asset-Based Community Development training for citizens and practitioners throughout London, as well as to those working and volunteering in the CVSE sector throughout the UK.
In truth CVA are more than simply partners, they are good friends who have been deeply committed to making citizen led action more visible across the London Borough of Croydon at neighbourhood level. Over the last seven years they have consistently invested in deepening and proliferating community building practice and citizen-led change: CVA ABCD Projects 2015-16. So much so, that today they can confidently consider themselves as one of the exemplar sites for ABCD practice in Britain. That’s why I’m so proud to be joining with them to roll out our ABCD training across London. Joining the international experience of Nurture Development with local experience of authentic ABCD application in a UK context, feels like a very natural next step in nurturing a deep and rooted understanding of ABCD across the UK. With that in mind, we are delighted to invite you to join us in deepening your ABCD community building efforts, and developing real world know-how in authentically applying ABCD where you live and practice.

We look forward to learning together with you and citizens from across Croydon’s amazing communities,
Cormac Russell
