Sacha DeWolfe

Sacha DeWolfe is a PhD candidate at the University of New Brunswick, a member of Natoaganeg First Nation and an assistant professor at Mount Allison University, teaching in the Canadian and Indigenous Studies Department. Her focus is on Indigenous topics and community engaged learning.

Set on implementing her desire-based research, Sacha developed community-based courses to challenge discourses of damage and deficit through community engaged, asset-based pedagogy. Her summer learning program, partners with First Nation communities in various provinces within Canada, utilizes the community as the learning environment and recognizes learners as citizens. Sacha is an advocate of Asset Based Community Development and acknowledges that it situates itself firmly within an Indigenous worldview and paradigm. Sacha also co-hosts a podcast with Cormac Russell (Executive Director, Nurture Development) titled, The Connected Community.
