Perhaps…

Perhaps we don’t need more start-ups, we need more up-starts.

Perhaps seemingly useless small things can be the solutions to our biggest problems.

Perhaps people are not vulnerable in themselves, but how we organise as a society means some people are more vulnerable to oppression and not being able to share and receive gifts than others.

Perhaps children raise parents, and pupils teach teachers, and patients heal doctors and nurses.

Perhaps the Left thinks the Right is wrong, and the Right thinks the Left is wrong, and that’s what’s wrong.

Perhaps we are not self-reliant, we are other-reliant.

Perhaps our pursuit of absolutes is serving to create more uncertainty and fragmentation.

Perhaps our need to heal, teach, parent, lead and rescue are as harmful as our more aggressive drives towards having power over others.

Perhaps the enemy at the board/negotiation table is a friend at the kitchen table.

Perhaps we need fewer leaders who say ‘this is the way’, and more connectors who help us co-create ‘our way’.

Perhaps?

I absolutely love this blog – an artistic challenge to the way society thinks about community. I’m going to quote this in a presentation I’m about to give to our CCG on ‘Community Engagement’ if that’s OK with you?
